Human nature cannot be defined by a human being, because we can't stand outside our own condition and say what it is. There are a few hints, here and there. For instance, we see in colour, including the colour red, and we use language and metaphors connected to colour, we tend to be very visual and think of many things in visual terms rather than olfactory. Since we are diurnal, we are afraid of the dark, our behaviour tends to be learned rather than instinctive and we are also social animals. There are exceptions to these, but as a species, there is a tendency towards such features in our nature. Much of our nature is not really very relevant to the nature of good and evil though.

Ya, the need for Sex/food/safety is universal nature. Not only for Humans but all creatures. It is called as the action of an reptilian brain essential in all beings.

That's exactly why saints are considered great when compared to others as they give up two of the three that any one can live without.

I'm not really sure anymore. i would like to believe that every human has an knows whats ethical. the person doesn't have to be moral, they just know whats "right" from "wrong". and even then "right" and "wrong" don't really exists. there're just ideas that are part of the foundation for human society. I haven't met a person who didn't know what was ethical, so i'm going with YES, there is a universal human nature, but our consciousness allows us to avoid whats right from wrong. so just 'cuz we have a universal nature doesn't mean we have to listen to it.

Nature is the universal human nature. Everything else is cultural. Jumping when you are startled is that nature. Every human does it.

What makes red is that it is red. What makes us human is that we are human. No need for any philosophical pseoudosophistication, we are what we are, and human is the word for thus.

Reason. Man is rational by nature; he may however choose (or be forced) to ignore or evade the facts of reality, pervert logic and behave irrationally.

When is it rational to be unreasonable?

i would say no, yes we are very diverse, all of us do not feel a need for survival, though most of us do
all of us do not feel a need for the spiritual, though many do
nor do all of us have a need for sex, food, even life
i cant think of one way, or thing we need, that everyone possesses
