We lived in a house that we didn't know was haunted by a shadow entity who was always near the bedroom and bathroom on the second floor landing. Since I worked overnights I didn't experience it until one weekend when I was off.
I had several dreams of a shadowy figure in a house or outside of the house and didn't say anything to my wife, after about three months she told me she thought there was a ghost and almost immediately I told her "I know".
My wife had told me there was a shadow slinking near the floor at nights in the bedroom and the hallway. This was scary because our daughter was a few months old and slept in our bedroom in the crib. As my daughter got older and began acknowledging us more she would stare at a spot at the ceiling and laugh as if someone was playing with her. This went on over time.
One particular night I had a nightmare with the entity coming closer and closer and I began chanting some sort of language challenging the entity to leave - I sensed it was not a pleasant force and it would do us harm eventually, next thing I knew my wife was shaking me awake she told me to stop moaning so loud, that I sounded like I was fighting something off.
My older daughter also had an encounter with the entity entering the bathroom as she was in the shower. She thought her brother was in the bathroom and called to him but the shadow stayed behind the curtain for a moment and moved out of the room.
While we lived there several people fell down the stairs, my wife and baby-she almost fell on top of the baby the baby tumbled down a few steps, my wife's grandmother fell, both my kids fell, I slipped up badly and caught mysef on the rail.
My final encounter I was home after work in the mid-afternoon I was on the computer sitting at the desk at the bottom of the staircaise and I kept sensing the presence at the top of the stairs moving back and forth - I took all my courage and went upstairs and stood in it's path and challenged it to leave this world that there was nothing here for it anymore that all of it's possesions were gone so it should leave in peace... after that the house suddenly felt quieter - but the energy started up just before we moved out.
The day we moved out my wife's grandmother died while staying at her daughters house.

Well to give you an idea of how long ago this was I am 40 and at the time this happened I was 8, my parents always had friends over at our house to play cards a couple of nights a week, and me and my younger sister were never allowed around the adults, go figure lol, but one night we were sent to bed early, we shared a room and some of my parents friends had their kids over so we all had to go to our room to go to bed, well I was sleeping on the floor next to my sister, and I hated the dark I always had to have a light on, still do, so my dad left the hallway light on....perfect, well I woke up because I heard my dad's voice, and I looked out in the hallway and in my doorway there was a perfect black shadow man, still clear in my mind to day, head to shoulders, down past his waist, and I said " dad is that you " he didn't answer and I instantly felt so scared.... he didn't move, and right when I was going to say it again my dad walked right behind this thing to go to his bedroom, he didn't see him and this thing stood there for a good 10 minutes, I will never forget that for as long as I live, I just covered my head till I woke up the next morning. The only person I ever told was my own daughter, and she is 21 now.

I have had a few because I go ghost hunting. But the one that scared me the most happened in my bed. I woke up with freezing cold shivers that kept coming and going. I was on my back and it felt as if something was taking the covers from either side of me and pushing down, then letting up. It went on for about 3 minutes then stopped. I couldn't even move or say anything during it. As soon as it stopped I got up and turned the light & TV on for the rest of the night. It was freaky..happened about 5 years ago.

It seems that ghosts follow me wherever I go, so I have a lot of stories. One of the strangest was when I was living in Virginia. My husband and I tried to get into a certain apartment complex, but couldn't, then we are contacted and told that there is one apartment we can get due to the former tenet falling and breaking her leg. My husband worked nights and I worked days. I would do his laundry and place it on the stairs before I would go to bed. Every morning it would be scattered, unfolded off the stairs. One night I was upstairs in bed and was touched on my shoulder. I jumped out of the bed and searched the house. No one in the house, but me

I am a paranormal investigator so I have had lots of experiences. Most recently I was filming the hallway in my own home because I had thought i heard something the night before. When reviewing the tape there was an evp.(a dis-embodied voice captured on a recording device not heard by the human ear at the time of recording). It doesnt even sound English. Ghosts are belived to be attached to something or someone. I think someone in my family has an entity attached to them (i think it might be me) but when i was little, about 4, my older brother and I would go into my moms room and tell her to tell the little boy to stop playing with our toys and nightlights. Doors would slam and one day my mom came into my room because i was yelling at someone and there was no one there but a toy floated infront of me for a second then fell to the floor. I am very sensitive to these kinds of things. Maybebecause i am a perfect mix of celtic and native american, both are believed to be channelers to the paranormal, but the only bad or evil entity that i have come inot contact with is a possessed girl. She was a friend and had drug troubles. One night she was staying at my house and we were up late talking and she all of a sudden went rigged for a second. then she started talking in a deep raspy voice. Her eyes were all black. I thought she was playong around at first till i noticed her eyes. She snapped oiut of it after a minute asnd i was crying by then. She started demanding that i not tell anyone, especially my mom. I of course went to get my older brother and then my mom. We prayed over her. She started screaming that jessica wasnt her anymore and that she was dead. We yelled to let her go and told jessica to say that she was a child of God, she couldnt say it. she would choke on her words. A pair of scisors came flying out of the kitchen and landed next to her. My brother grabbed them and threw them out a window. I was the only one to acctually touch her and I demanded that what ever had hold of her to let go. After about half an hour she stopped breathing for a second. When she finally gasped for air she was back to normal and she broke down crying. She started saying that she was indeed a child of God. It was really scary.
If you want a good ghost show watch Ghost Hunters on you tube or the scifi channel.

About a month ago, I rolled over in bed in the morning and began to drift back to sleep. I heard the springs in my bed squeak and I woke back up. Just as I was lifting my head to see what the squeak was about (it wasn't me), a lump came up from inside my mattress and pushed up my mattress pad - about 5 inches - and nudged me gently on the shoulder!! I jumped up and freaked out. Then I looked at my clock and noticed that it was time for my alarm to go off... but I had forgot to turn it on the night before. If I would have fell back asleep, I would have overslept, the kids would be late for school and I would have missed a doctor appointment. I don't know 'who' it was who gave me the wake up nudge, but I'm glad I got it! (Well, after my heart stopped racing). :) I don't know if it were a ghost per say. It may have been a guardian angel or one of my passed-on family members, but its kind of a 'ghost story'.

I have so many. How much time do you have?
My office that I currently work in is haunted. It is an old bank, that has been added onto several times. About 10 years ago, a man who worked there fell down the stairs and died of a heart attack. I believe that he still haunts the building. One night I was working late, and I thought I was the only one in the building. I heard talking and saw the line lit up, coming from a coworker's office (and office that used to be occupied by the man who died). I decided to walk down the hall and say "hi". But when I got there, no one was in the office. And had there been someone in the office, they would have had to walk right past me. There has been lots of other times that strange noises have been coming from the stairwell, like someone falling down the stairs. One day, I got trapped in the bathroom. It was like someone was pushing against the door, but when I finally got the door open, no one was there.
My uncle also has a haunted house. There was a woman named Edna who was born in the house, lived her whole life in the house, and died there in her 90s. She was never married and lived alone for over 50 years. When she died, her god-daughter inherited the house, and my uncle bought the house from her - including most of the original antiques. Edna didn't like a bachelor invading her space, and constantly let him know. She would clean up after him, rearrange things in the cupboards, open windows, adjust the thermostat, and occasionally make her presence known. The first time my uncle saw her, it was late one evening. She walked across the room right in front of him. It scared him so badly that he slept in a hotel that night. He described her to a neighbor, and he said the ghost fit Edna's description (my uncle had never met her). After awhile, he got used to living with her, and didn't mind the ghost one bit - especially when she cleaned up after him.
My grandparents used to own an old Victorian house that they converted to a bed and breakfast. It is also located on a Civil War battlefield. One of the rooms of the bed and breakfast was converted from the old smokehouse/summer kitchen. My brother was sleeping there one windy night, and woke up to a dark, ghostly figure standing above him. He said it was distinctly evil, and he feared for his safety. We found out later, that the original owner had been trampled by a horse, and crawled into the smoke house where he died. Another night, I was sleeping in a different part of the house. I heard footsteps coming down the hall, and then my door opened. I turned on the light and laid there till morning.

Hi! I have had quite a few paranormal experiences. The most recent was photographing several pictures with orbs in them at Gettysburg. The orbs are real, I had them checked out by a professional ghost hunter! Also when I was a teen, I was awakened one evening from a deep sleep by footsteps slowly climbing the stairs of our home. When I turned around I saw my Grandfather at the top of the stairs(deceased of course). It scared the crap out of me. I was afraid to sleep alone after that! Funny thing was about a month later a friend took me to a medium in Brooklyn, NY. She only charged whatever donation for her church and she must of been about 95! She was fantastic. She told me that a man who shoveled coal on a truck was trying to contact my mother about stones missing from her bracelet.(She had lost stones from an expensive bracelet and was upset!) Well, when I got home I asked my mom who did she know who shovelled coal on a truck??????? She told me "Your Grandfather used to shovel coal on a truck"! So there was the proof! I obviously intercepted it that night that I saw him! I swear to every word of this, and I'm a pretty normal person, no UFO abductions etc. etc.LOL
