I just found out that my husband gave a key to OUR house to his ex wife. They have a son together and that is why but he never told me. I am upset because I dont want HER to have access to our house when we aren't home. In his defense, he tells me HIS SON has a key... not her. Well, he is 8 years old. Am I wrong?

I would be pissed off. His son can come when you guys are there. Hes only 8 so why does he need a key. Its not like he can be there alone. I would tell him to get the key back. Good luck!

You have every right to be upset. An 8 year old child does not need a key to a house that he does not live in. I personally would be more concerned over the lie then the whole key situation..

Nope, I think you are completely justified in your upset. The son should not need a key because he is not old enough to be home alone. And the fact that your husband didn't tell you, makes me wonder. At the very least, the ex should NEVER be in your house uninvited

I agree with you for being upset - he should've consulted with you before giving her a key. The 8 year old is more than welcome in your home, of course. But at 8, he doesn't necessarily need a key to the house. I can't imagine that he'll be using it on his own anytime soon. I could see if he was maybe a pre-teen or a teenager. Either way, since he didn't discuss it with you first, I'd be upset. My husband even let me know when he gave his MOM a key to our home.

I think you have every right to be upset. She has no business being in your house, she's not with him anymore. If his son is old enough to have a key, which he is, then he can be responsible for that key. HOWEVER, if he insists she has one, then let it go, BUT if anything comes up missing at any given time, THEN you call the police and let them know who all has a key to the house. I'm serious. I know that sounds bad, but it's all about taking care of yourself and your posessions when no one else is looking out, does this make sense?

Yeh, I'd be pissed 2. She has no business having excess 2 YOUR home. If he wants his son 2 be able to get into the house he should hide a key on the outside of your property some where.

You have every right to be upset....
One: He didn't tell you
Two: His son is only eight!? Now unless he has the freedom of 16 - 17 yr. old there's no need for a key yet!
And Three: Give the key to the kid!

Give your ex boyfriend a key and tell your husband you need someone to feed the pets while the 2 of you are out of town.

His son has a right to access his house -- but he is too young to be responsible with a key. I think it is perfectly reasonable for the key to be in his mother's care until he is of age to use it.

I think you're being unreasonable.

I think you have every right to be upset. he should have told you and There is no reason for an 8 year old to need to get into your house when you are not home anyway thats just weird. Not telling you something like this is deceitful and no better than lying.
