Of course we have a "black Friday" -- we have shopping centers don't we??!! LOL
Parkway Plaza will probably open early like everywhere else, but each store might have its own hours. Check online (search Westfield Malls - Parkway Plaza) and see what they have listed.

Not only do they have Black Friday here, but lots of stores open super early (like 4 am) with special deals. Also, the shopping malls' parking lots fill up super early on that day (often before 8 am). So be prepared!
Last year the spouse got up at 4:15 am (yes, am) to catch a sale at Frye's Electronics. The store opened at 5 am and the line wrapped all around the store.
Definitely, on the days prior to Friday, check out the ads in the San Diego Union Tribune and start planning your strategy.
Lots of folks at work are planning to go to some super early sale at Ann Taylor. Some are calling all the stores to get opening times. All the major mall dept stores will be opening real early.
Note that if you're going to Fashion Valley Mall, you can take the trolley so you don't have to hassle with parking.
Parkway Plaza would not be my first choice for shopping, so if you are only going there cause it's close, you may want to think about other alternatives. Parkway Plaza has more "low end" stuff compared to other malls.

Ah, yes, Black Friday...the day that will bring out the most competitive shoppers. Read the newspaper the day before or watch the TV for specials. Many stores will open early, and some shoppers will line up for hours early to make sure they get the bargains advertised.
Good luck, and have fun.

Also, if you don't mind a small car trip, you can head up to Carlsbad for the Premium Shopping Outlets on the I-5. Probably won't take you longer than 30 min. from downtown. They have a LOT of high end shops like Barney's, Brooks Brothers, Juicy Coulture, Tommy Hilfiger, CK, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, you name it.. not to mention you can visit downtown Carlsbad - which has one of the most beautiful beaches in So. Cal (in my opinion). There are some little cute shops downtown too.
(not that I shop name brands.. but just a fun tidbit.)
Have fun!

I'd be prepared to be there for a while. I tried to get a laptop at Office Depot last year, got there 2 hours early and there was already a line....Depending on the sale, sometimes people camp-out all night long...

Yup your 2 hot spots will both be in Mission Valley. The Mission valley mall has a Target and other smaller stores. Fashion Valley mall has Macy's, Nordstroms, etc.
