My son will be 1 year in two weeks, I feel so embarrassed as he does not want to eat food, he takes two spoons only, but will eat all of his desert, but at times, none of his desert. He will drink his milk, but only has three bottles a day. I just don't know what to do. I have tried all types of food.

Keep offering small portions of a variety of healthy foods and let him eat what and how much he wants. Go with finger foods and let him self-feed. Some kids are just not very interested in solids at this age - especially if teething. My daughter didn't eat very much until she was two. As long as your baby is healthy and gaining weight, don't stress about how much he eats.

Some good foods for this age: Cut up or mashed banana or avocado, applesauce, frozen blueberries, frozen peas, small cubes of cheese, yogurt, cheerios, crackers, mashed or cut up baked sweet potato, cooked pasta or noodles.

My son who's now 4 did not eat much until 15 months old. He was just not interested. He was a milk only kid for the most part. THere were a few occasions when he would eat 3 jars at a sitting, otherwise he would maybe take one spoonful if I was lucky. He's doing fine now but was on a high fat diet for a while just to keep his weight up. If your son is underweight then just keep trying to get stuff in him. Will he take his milk if you mix just enough cereal in it so that he gets some more food but doesn't notice the difference? Also since he's old enough to eat more than just purees have you tried just putting food on his tray and letting him play? I also just remembered that my son would eat in the bath. I know it's weird but we could get him to eat Yo-Baby's in the bath tub while he was playing. He would eat the whole yogurt which was a lot for him. We eventually got him to eat all kinds of food in the bath. It's worth a shot! If he's not underweight then I wouldn't worry too much. Definitely talk to his doc though. Good luck.

Don't be embarrassed, but this is really something you need to talk to his pediatrician about, to make sure he is getting proper nourishment. Also, you should not be giving him desserts if he won't eat regular foods or baby foods. He should still be on baby formula, not regular milk, if that is all he is getting. Take a little infant cereal, the dry flaky kind, like baby rice cereal or baby oatmeal and mix it with the formula, but make it mostly formula, then try to get him to take a few spoonfuls. Try again a few hours later, then make it a little thicker, to gradually get him used to the new texture. Be patient and do not give him any soda, candy, or desserts. He's too young for those things and they will spoil his appetite for healthy foods. Good luck!

actual honey, candies, and something that would reason choking are no longer good. New comments are saying peanuts are ok (in the style of mushy peanut butter) E is 11 months and eats something I consume as long as he won't choke and it would not have honey. He likes surprisingly spiced nutrition. i've got been ingesting issues with reasonable amts of warm sauce and he eats it no problem. he's had eggs, beef, cheese, and tomatoes. He has yogurt a minimum of two situations consistent with week, and cottage cheese too. he's had salsa, lamb, rooster, beef, kefir (kinda like greek yogurt), and particularly some different unique and spiced meals. He purely would not drink at present milk, however the ped suggested he could have milk mixed with breast milk. purely attempt to maintain it healthful. In a month he could have honey (it could reason botulism decrease than a million year)

Some babies don't catch on to eat solids right away. Be patient and continue to introduce the food to him daily at every feeding. Try feeding him solids of the foods he liked from baby food.
For example:
Banannas
crackers
teething cookies
cheese
sweet potatoes
bread
When its feeding time put him in his high chair with solid food first. Do not give him bottle first. Do this at every feeding, eventually he will catch on.
Good luck!
