depends how deep they want to search. First off you shouldn't be doing those things so put your hand out so I can slap it.

I only know for internet explorer and firefox. Especially firefox. internet explorer adds another level of pain.

open a web browser and do ctrl-h that is hold the Ctrl button down and press the h key. It will bring up the history. Go through the history and delete only the inapropiate sites. If you delete everything it will look suspicious.

now, on the top of the browser click on the Tools button, then on the options or intrnet options. in I.E (internet explorer) click on the genral tab then click on the button that says settings. A new window will pop up. In tha new window click on View Files. Yet another window will pop up. Delete the offesive files only.

the procedure is similar for firefox but the order is TooL>>option>>PRIVACY TAB>>SHOW COOKIES.

Remember to also delete the my recent documents files. TO do this click on START>My RECENT DOCUMENTS then right click on each suspect file and delete it one by one.

internet explorer also keeps hidden files called index.dat.

not many people know about this but they are there. You need to get more involve with this one so if you think is beyond your capability then don't do it.

Oh, don't forget to empty the garbage can. An easy way is to use windows utility tools. They are located in START>PROGRAMS>>ASSESORIES>>SYSTEM TOOLs. Run the disk clean up first. The last step is to run de defrag utility but this takes a long time. This may help finding the erasd files a bit harder.

There is some software that may help yu with this endeavor but, you have to remember to also uninstall the software after you are done with it to eliminate suspision. Bottom line is that is a race against time. The more you do it the more likely you will get caught so don't do it.

One more thing. After you have done all the step described above. restart your computer and do it one more time just to make sure you did not missed anything. remember the trick to this is not to erase everything because it will look suspicious.

The only way to truly erase the files would be if you had a secure shredder program (like PGP or the one in mcafee) and used that to delete the temporary internet files and history directory on the harddrive.

You would also want to delete any cookies that may have been collected from those sites but don't delete them all as the others are probably needed.

You'll also want to kill the index.dat file with the shredder.

Using a secure wipe or shredder will prevent them from being able to recover the files and is the only true way to permanently delete.

You would also want to go into the browser and turn AUTOCOMPLETE off (Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete) this will prevent the sites from coming up in the address bar.

You might also want to hit the registry keys but if you don't know what you are doing I would not recommend it.

Good Luck

1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
5. Click OK.

rotfl. It's easier to just stay away from those sites! Your parents will probably kill me, but here :

For Firefox : Select Tools - Clear Private Data. Make sure to include "Cookies" (these are the things that make URL recollection possible).

Make sure you go into your Documents and Settings folder, and delete all the Temporary Internet files. If you can't find that, just search "Temporary" under the Windows search.

For Internet Explorer : Tools : Internet Options. Under "Temporary Data" clear the Cookies and Temporary Internet Files. Underneath that, delete the history.

I was young once too, and my mother caught me on the internet when I wasn't even supposed to be on -- DAMN YOU DIALUP! ;)

If your parents are at all computer knowledgable, they will still be able to track where you have surfed. It doesn't matter if you clear your history and / or cookies. It's a simple procedure using free software to view your index.dat files.

Sorry for the bad news. You puke kids only think you are smart. Parents are smarter :-)

Go to your toolbar and select delete all history (Or something along those lines) and it deletes every site, and password. It's like the nothing ever happened!
