I am buying an iMac soon, and debating whether to spend the extra money for 2.4GHz. Are 2.0 GHZ inadequate or obsolete for todays average computer? What is the amount amount of GHz found in computers today?

hmm.. depends on usage.

if i was you i would go futre proof -
dual or quad core.

so 2.4ghz x 2

or 2.4ghz x 4

may be a bit expensive than standard cpu. but 100% worth it. :-).

look into it

Current iMac uses the powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor. 2.0 gHz Core2 Duo is enough for many applications. If you want some more free gHz, just overclock it. 2.4gHz would be easy to top.

i prefer a dual core, i have a 2.4ghz x 2 and it runs great.

2.4Ghz is the best way cuz if you go 2.0Ghz and overclock it mite f up ur imac

go with a 2.4 dual core at the least. more would be better.
