I love doing it. They'd all better stay the blank out of my kitchen while I'm cooking. LOL
Start some of your cooking the night before. It makes it less hectic on Thursday.

Hah! Second year in a row. Man, I'm a sucker. SIL keeps getting Xmas, which is hosted on an off day and can be any meal at all. I have to cook a 14 lbs bird, after painstakingly defrosting the beast and brining it. Also there are like 30 side dishes which are "classic" and make the holiday.
Too bad I couldn't get xmas, pop a pre-cooked ham in the oven, bake some yams and call it a day. Totally beat!
P.S. it should be brought to attention that each year we have split it.. neither she nor I have successfully cooked the turkey. It's always underdone and needs emergency heating. Damn..
Good luck on your holiday.

Sorry to hear tha! Our family tradition is whom ever's home we're going to provides the main course whether it's turkey or ham and then everyone else brings the side dishes. It's only fair I think because tha way everyone can enjoy the holiday and no one person has to spend all day working. We also jus do a Christmas morning brunch in the same way. But hope your day goes well and you luck out and have someone pitch in to help.

I feel this way EVERY year!!!!
Although, my mother and I team up to cook so that makes it a bit easier!
But NO one ever offers to help....
The least they can do is clean up!
P.S. I love my family too!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
