My brother lives in a different city as me. He is telling me that his car won't start. He says the speedometer goes all the way up then back down and it won't start. I don't think it's the battery because it has been replaced recently. ..please specify what type of "electrical problem it is" please help!

you may have a problem, thats beyond your abilities. First its probly not the speedometer thats bouncing up and down, it may be the RPM guage. indicates nothing when the engine is not running. have you had new plugs installed lately? is the engine just spining or is it trying to start. can you pull of one of the spark plug wires to see if a spark jumps if you ground it to the cars engine. do you know where the schreder valve is, to test that the fuel pump is working. try to see if the pump buzzes when you turn the key and some one listen at the filler door. I'm sorry there are too many things that can make a car not start. tell your brother, fords a more dependable than any Gm I've seen or worked on.

Sounds like a computer problem. That's the trouble with newer vehicles, nothing mechanical, the computer runs everything. When it runs.
