None of our politicians will be doing anything to help deter any threat coming from China. On the contrary, as we get closer to a global government, China will become the blueprint of how to run the lives of all the people in the world.

Media reports of the day listed the Communist PLA woes of the early 1990's due to Communism's historically proven failed economics and a nearly bankrupt central government. Boots for every other soldier, guns for half their men with only 5 BULLETS PER GUN, no real navy and precious little effective air forces. Command was antiquated as were communications, nuclear capacity and field armor with moral tanked due to nonpayment of salaries throughout the conscripted service of the PLA. The student uprising of 1989 by unarmed citizens seeking liberty nearly defeated the PLA but was brutally repelled with an excess of 10000 murdered students in the streets of China's capital. Point is the people nearly won. 1994 saw the realization of the dream of capitalizing from tyranny while undermining freedom and avoiding living wages by a small group of Arkansas traitors when Clinton, acting as a WMT lawyer while President of USA, extended "favored nation" trading status to the enemy of freedom. American politicians of both parties will only continue to protect Communist China principle investers, namely the Walton family of AR among others. Treason trials and WMT dismantlement, that is the only cure.

We have to face the fact we can not defeat China. Our western society does not have the nerve that it takes to win such a battle.
We have to "put off" the biggest problem that could occur long enough for capitalism to win over China. That being the consumption of the worlds natural resources. Once China feels that our wealth is consuming too much they will likely grow weary of our wealth and consider military action to secure the resources they trully will need.
So we have to start drilling oil here - now - and coming up with alternatives that work like bio diesel via algae farms so that we are not in competition with China for natural resources they will take.

We'll probably continue selling them weapons, at least until President Bush leaves office. Longer if Hillary Clinton gets elected.

Not much, especially not the Republicans who thrive on cheap labor and shipping jobs overseas in the first place. Sorry, but even if those two characteristics are not related they are indicators they do not see it in their interests to deter it.

What CAN they do? Build up ours so there is another stupid arms race like the cold war? Waste trillions of dollars building up our military and leaving our domestic needs in shambles?
Who cares if China is building up their military.
