normally all you would do is go to your employer and tell them to either stop of switch to a different account == unless you owe your employer thay have to abide by your wishes!!!

It sounds like your paycheck is setup for direct deposit to an account you can't access due to some sort of court order. The ONLY way to change where your pay is sent is though your employer. It sounds strange that it would take 2 pay periods to make a change, but if that is how your employer works, there is nothing you CAN do.

Check with your bank directly to find out what their requirement is to stop automatic deposits. Why is the employer stating that you have to wait until 2 more checks go through? Will this complete the garnishment that has been placed on your payroll checks? Is it a wage garnishment or is your bank account frozen? If your bank account is frozen then it could be that your bank is the one who is requiring the wait time to stop direct deposits. Find out who set this timeframe up and why.
You have the right to get a live check or to have it direct deposited. But, keep in mind, if there is a legal garnishment on your pay they will deduct it from your check and issue you a check for the balance.

Sounds like your boss just doesn't want to be bothered with it. Ask him to do it with a veiled threat of lawyers or maybe you should just get a cheap lawyer to represent because paychecks are so important. Weigh it up... if your paychecks would cover the lawyer and get cash in your hand...? The banks won't be able to do it, it's out of their "hands"

What is the legal part of it?
Is it a paycheck deduction?

sorry, usually there's no way. the best way is to call/go to your bank and talk to the clerk... don't be ashamed, they're used to it, they don't judge people. it they don't help, go to your employer (human resourcers people - HR) and talk to them about your problem. they'll understand. don't worry. good luck to you!

ask your bank. It might be like a stop payment, but they will know.
