We are trying to replace the toilet seat cover. The bolts have rusted over, and it just won't budge. Any tips on how to remove the bolt, nut, and washer without breaking the bolt? Any tips are great. Thanks.

Seat cover or seat?

PB Blaster is MUCH better than WD for stubborn, rusty nuts and bolts. It's a penetrant oil, not just a lubricant like WD. You'll find it pretty much whever they sell WD40, and it comes in a simlar spray can. If soaking it with PB a few times doesn't work, you can usually drill the head of the bolt slowly, until the head breaks right off.

There is a tool out there called a nut cracker. It splits the nut off without hurting the bolt. But, knowing toilet seats you probably won't have enough for it to fit. If WD-40 doesn't work, you're better off getting a whole new unit.
Good Luck ! ! !

I am not a plumber but for stubborn bolts try to drill right through the bolt. The bolt will come right out. Or use wd40 as has been said and let it set then try to remove the bolts.

WD-40 - spray some on and let it soak a minute then try again. Typically the WD-40 oil will loosen the rust and let the bolt move again.

Good luck!
