what can you do with a history degree?

flip burgers. actually you can do whatever you want with it since its a general social degree. hopefully you have something in mind that you want to work for in history. such as museum work or teaching. then you will have to get a masters or doctorate to do anything further. if you dont have a plan and just want a degree then go for teaching or business which will give you a fall back to lean on.

There are a number of jobs that a person can use a history degree.

1) Teach history at a secondary school.
2) Work as a Genealogist.
3) Become a university lecturer (if you have a Masters or PhD.)
4) Become a historian, writing books on certain topics -- a war historian for the Department of Defence, a political historian, writing biographies etc.

Teach...research and write a book about a period or person in History...or go to law school...that's what most people with History degrees end up doing.
