In my opinion, the only "stupid" question is the question that is NOT asked!
Consider where the Human Race would be now if someone did not ask:
- What lies beyond the horizon?
- How did life get here?
- Do the heavens move around the Earth, or the Earth move through the heavens?
- How can I get a better view of the night sky?
- Can a heavier-than-air machine fly like the birds?
- What would happen if I flew a kite during a thunderstorm?
- What would happen if I squeezed the teet of a cow?
- Can an atom be split?
- Can Mt. Everest be climbed?
- What is the Moon made of?
- Can one computer communicate with another computer?
Someone, at sometime, would have thought those were 'stupid' questions also!

There are basically two different reasons why someone would ask "why do people ask stupid questions? The first reason is, because they do it themselves, and they're hopping to get some in put as to why they do it without being publicly ridiculed, in other words they're psycho-analyzing themselves. The other reason is because some people who lack a sense of humor and feel that Y!A should be used as a tool to attain information solely don't understand why someone in their right mind would waste 5 points on a "stupid" question.....You won't find to many of the latter on P&S. :p

People don't like stupid questions and want to find out why people ask them in the first place.

You know what's so funny? I noticed that some of the people who do the most criticizing are the ones who don't do much asking at all if any at all. Some people are just jealous that there are people who can come up with a question to ask while they can't think of anything and therefore they are insecure with themselves and feel the need to criticize others to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Dear friend,
There is never a stupid question. Every question asked maybe important to the asker. I am sure you too know this. What you consider stupid maybe very important to some one else. If I were you, I would think before making useless comments. This is strictly my opinion, whether you agree or not is entirely up to you. Good luck.

Well, for starters, this is one of those stupid questions.
Secondly, nobody knows what goes on inside stupid people's heads, so they ask the stupid people personally why they ask stupid questions.

Because we all seek justification for our actions? An individual may have knowledge but not about everything, we are continuously learning. What really pees me off though is when a question is asked in terribly poor English or is not actually a question but a statement, how does one respond to either?
