I try to keep my emotions in check when I am angry and talk to the person deliberately, in a slow monotone voice;almost as if talking to a child. If they continue to yell and scream at me, I walk away. I don't have the time or energy to argue with people that are out of control. I dwell on the situation for about a day, then let it go. I run it through my memory bank thinking what I could have done to make the situation better. This helps me learn for future encounters. Some people enjoy arguing, I can't stand it because it exhausts me.

yes i have a fiery temper: part German,Bulgarian and then Romanian and what do you get? hot temperment. i am one of those people who will react right away which sometimes is bad especially when my friends and bf are playing with mess or just messing around. I also react away vs. store it inside for later by telling the person in kind words how they made me feel because of what they did.in general yes i over react at times and yes i have a temper that clashes with my bf which is part Polish,German and such. The thing is I learned how to control myself when I react and not to make a scene or go balistic.

Hi~No, I don't have a fiery temper that reacts right away, but I sure as heck will confront someone (later) when I truly feel they have behaved idiotically. You see, dear Rena, such people cannot make me angry, hurt me or will I sulk--they aren't really worth my time. But to let them know what fools I think they've been? Oh, yes!

To be quite honest I use to...but learning now to harnes those outbursts of temper. I might fire out at the old man from time to time..LOL But to someone else I dont. That comes with maturity. You cant go flyin off the bat and jump down someones throat cause it suits you. I bite my tongue if needed , its better that way. Sure let your face turn red but dont let it eat ya up inside. Keep your tongue civil..even though you are mad as an old wet hen.. Let the old rooster take care of your temper so to speak.. The other person will get the idea when you remain quite. I have seen this happen alot..

This sounds robotic, but I don't react to another's weirdness
at all. I just let them rant on and ask if I can help in any way.
No anger, no hurt. I've taken my ego out of the equation.
Hardly anything can throw me off center. I once blew though
when I saw someone abusing an animal and you wouldn't
have wanted to be within a thousand yards of the fallout. I remember
once I had asked a customer not to handle some hand beaded
Prom dresses unless she wanted to try one on.....she got
really uppity and angry and shouted at me "don't you ever
want to sell any of these"? While she was shouting, she
was walking towards me and her face was very red. With
my hand on some Mace and my other on a stack of my
Psychologist friend's business cards, I smiled and said..
"if I can be of any help at all, don't hesitate to call", then
handed her one of my friends cards. Never saw her again.

I may feel like reacting right away, but as if I had touched a hot stove, I think before doing it again. I don't want to react and have fights like in the past, so I am more reserved and figure it's for the best.

Hello Rena, It really depends on how well I know this person, if it's someone who knows what pushes my buttons it's instant, I have no problem telling this person what is on my mind, but if it's someone I hardly know or don't know at all, I tend to be a little more soft around the edges, I don't sulk or torture myself, but I do sometimes bite my tongue.

I don't have fiery temper. I don't take anything like that as a matter of emergency. Yes I do speak my mind in a better time and atmosphere.

I have a fiery temper if it only struck my ego. That' the problem with me because i seldom use it. Once use, you will be stubbed as bad as you stubbed me. I give also the best shot more than what you give. But normally i don't react outrightly because i have the patience with me. The exception is when my ego has been the central target.
Thanks for asking. Have a great day!
