DIY Doc may be the biggest answerer but is dead wrong Just like you will be if you or any body listens to him anymore. If it is just a 110v 30 amp circuit use 10-2 w/ground 220v use 10 -3 w/ground Just for your own record use 12-2 for 20 amp and 14-2 15 amp circuits

#10 with a ground, the first guy is DEAD wrong. 30 amp breakers are for appliance like electric water heaters, a/C, stuff like that. Wish I knew what you were going to run off of it. Just look at the NEC and you'll see that someone has made 40 years of mistakes.

For sure 10. The first guy is trying to burn your house down. 12 is for 20 amps and 14 is for 15 amps.
