I saw an 60 Minutes segment yesterday where Muslims were talking about how young men are enticed to fight and die because of the promise of 77 virgins for them in heaven. Are these guys nuts to die for that sham of a promise??

John, it's called brain washing from the time they can talk. It is truly sad. Don't get me wrong, what they are doing is totally evil in it's nature. However, what kind of morals and thought processes are they put through to sacrifice their lives and the lives of children. They arm toddlers with suicide bombs! Disgusting!

I want an explanation as to where these virgins come from?
What if the virgins think you're ugly? Are they forcibly raped? Is heaven "hell" for virgins, then?

does that mean that in heaven newly de-virginized women outnumber men by at least 77 to one?
And since women do not out number men here on earth, does god create heavenly women just for that one night stand?
Do they just fade away after the sex or to they all hang out and waiting for their assigned guy to pop the question?

It is 72 virgins and yes they are. You cant use the ethics, morals and behavioral expectations of the Western Culture to understand the Middle Eastern mindset.

No text has ever said that the virgins would be beautiful, or that they would be female, for that matter. And not all Muslims believe that. I've met some who don't.

I saw that segment, and that kid wouldn't know what to do
with a single virgin!
Wasn't it great how his mother sat proudly as he talked about
volunteering to be a suicide bomber.

So.. Bin Laden dies and goes to heaven... he gets up there and up walks George Washington and *bam*.. slaps Biny boy right across the face... well he shakes it off and walks on when... *bam* up walks Franklin and slaps him straight across the face... well this goes on for a while when finally he sees Muhammad and Jesus a little ways away chatting it up and having a good ole time... he walks up and asks Muhammad "Hey, I thought you said I would have 72 Virgins waiting for me up here if I bombed the Twin Towers".. Muhammad looks puzzled for a second.. looks at him and say "hmm? oh no.. I said 72 VIRGINIANS."
