FYI, at the end of the game, the commentators contacted the league office and were informed that the play WAS REVIEWABLE under league rules, because the ball hit the center support bar. If it had hit only the bottom bar or gone over the top of the posts and was called no good, it would not be reviewable. The right call was made, and the Browns won. Go Browns!

Dawson kicked a 52 yard field goal, and it hit the left upright. Then the ball took a steep angle down and hit the support/extension bar and then bounced into the end zone.
The refs initially ruled it as no good, but there was a meeting between the refs minutes after the game and it was ruled as a good field goal. Both teams were asked back to the field (mostly Raven players) and played OT and Browns won.
In the end, the ruling on the field was correct. The ball hit the support/extension bar which technically went over the crossbar.
Something you don't see in a NFL game too often.

Wow!! what an ending to a football game. The highlight will be played for a long time. The Browns field goal was good it hit the back of the goal post and bounced back onto the football field. At first the refs called it no good.
I think the refs did good by changing the call. My understanding a field goal is not reviewable. But watching ESPN this morning I guess the refs reverse the call after talking it over. I think the refs did the right thing for once.

With a few seconds left in the 4th quarter the Browns had the ball on 3rd down and set up to kick a 49 yard field goal. Phil Dawson kicked the ball and the wind pushed the ball toward the left and the ball bounced off the left goal post and then the ball crossed the plane between the uprights (goal posts) and bounced off the back post connected to the middle of the base post. When it bounced off the ball went out of the plane, so the refs looked at eachother and a few sec later they called it "no good" Ravens supposily won by 3. The refs discussed on the field and then one put on a head set to talk to guys in the press box. This play is not reviewable! When the ref on the head set went back on the field and and quote on quote he said "after DISCUSSION the field goal is good"
Okay this is b/s,. DISCUSSION they reviewed it! omg I know it was in, but the refs broke the rules and ruined it for the Ravens. I am not a Ravens fan I'm a Steelers fan but seriously the ref in the head set talked to a dude in the press box reviewing the play and told him it was good. It's not a reviewable play.

Refs made the right call. I turned it off after they signaled no good and watching the news a little later and they were interviewing Phil Dawson about hitting a game winner and I was like what!

The wackiest field goal in the history of the NFL happened at the end of that game. One ref made the wrong call the rest of the refs got it right. Remember this field goal. You will probably never see one like it again.

cleveland kicked field goal but it hit upright and deflected back and hit the pole that holds the goal posts up and it bounced back onto field. this caused referees to think it missed. further review showed it was good and the browns won in OT
