FOX News is certainly right sided in its presentations but to listen to some on the left around here they think it should be shut down. Why do they hate it so much? What is wrong with the right side of the agenda having a media outlet?

They pine for the halcyon days of the Liberal stranglehold on the dissemination of Information

Rush broke that stranglehold, and opened the way for other voices (i.e. non-leftwing extremist) to be heard, notably Fox News

They hate Fox news so much because it is opposition. For too many years the left has been the dominant force behind the news, what we see, what they want to report and how they want it reported. Now that CNN has broke the mold of news 24hrs a day, they thought they had complete reign of the media, thus control of power.Since Rush Limbaugh came onto the airwaves in 1988,they (the left media) have been held accountable for their actions and reporting. From Rush's springboard,Other right wing media has erupted and become successful.Something the left media cannot do.They think we are dumb and they are smarter than all of us.Fox news does something different, they report, and you decide. They are the only news program that gave you both views.Something CNN and MSNBC are now trying to emulate.CNN has been caught numerous times(like Dan Rather NBC or CBS whichever) fabricating and distorting their idea of the news.

Until Fox News Chanel aired it's first reports the left owned the media outlets. The major news stations were liberal, the major newspapers were liberal, etc. Rush Limbaugh was a pioneer in Conservative Radio, but there was no other conservative voice. Liberals just loved it. Now, they find themselves with competition and can't stand it. The odd thing is that some liberals are so narrow minded that they won't give it a chance, they won't even turn it on. To be fair I don't listen to Liberal Radio Shows (are there any?), or spend allot of time on Network News, "The View", CNN, or MSNBC either. I do at least check them out from time to time though. They talk about Fox being so biased, but look at Keith Obermans Show, or Hardball. The War in Iraq is barely mentioned on any of the news reports on CNN or MSNBC unless it's bad news. I find liberal news cast and various liberal shows extremely depressing, it's always the negative side of life. Thanks (I love Fox, but watch them all)

Because it is the only organization to become part of the "Main Stream Media" that doesn't parrot the liberal party line that the rest of the MSM does.

Contrary to being open minded, most liberals hate hearing opposing points of view and instinctually try to silence them rather than convincing them they are wrong.

Need evidence? The Fairness Doctrine. Dem Senators trying to shut down Rush Limbaugh after the bogus "phony soldier" controversy. The hijacking of the minutemen speech at Columbia university. Several attacks on Ann Coulter while speaking publicly.

Never said I hated it. It truly leans right, but I do watch the local Fox, and they seem pretty fair, contrary to Network.

It's wrong for them to call themselves "A News Corporation Company"...

It's not news... it's opinion... and they make people believe that it's what "real news" is supposed to be... and they perpetuate the myth that facts are just a liberal conspiracy...

So yes... I hate them... but I do not think they should be shut down officially... just ignored by those of us who appreciate solid journalism.

When Rupert Murdoch finally got his hands on the Wall Street Journal, he promised everyone that he was not going to change it or make it political... but he lied.
There is an article in there every day that preaches "Reaganomics" now...

Because when you want your masses to line up and stay in line, you must preach to the choir.... Amazed the supposed party of Free Speech is against any other view or interpretation
