Lube - is it worth getting?

If you start off slow and experience enough foreplay to a point where you have a few mini "o's", that should be enough lubrication. It you can get wet yourself, that should be enough for him. NOW, if your thinking 1st time, only in the "other" place (in that region), lube would be recommended.

It never hurts to have some around! The more lubricated you are, the easier it will go.

If you are having a problem with vaginal dryness it might be but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
