You used to have XP, right? Now you have vista, but you have no driver for your video card. Go to the manufacturer's web site or the web site for your video card and find a vista driver for your viudeo card.

Little bit confused on the terminology -

You Installed Vista and you are having problem with the Screen Resolution.

You need to download the Vista Driver for your Video Card, then you will be able to set it at a higher resolution.

A good selection of Vista drivers can be found at:

Sounds like you are confusing the 32bit OS with the bit for the display settings. Try updating your video driver and see if that fixes the display problem. You may be able to get the drivers from the Microsoft Update or directly from the video card vendor (check the vendor site first).

Welcome to the lovely world of Vista.
Consider buying a Mac, otherwise my thoughts are to start from scratch, wipe your drive, reinstall Vista, drivers, updates, etc.
