Hey Y/A!
Im 13 and I wanted to get a Black Macbook for Xmas. I need it for homework and music tech.
Im paying my dad £125.00 towards it. In the UK its £1000 with iLife preloaded and a whopping HD!
Im not spoilt either, yes its alot but I need this for my band and my homework (I was diagnosed with dypraxia at 11.99 years old).
I know white is cheaper but it does not go with my bands punk/rapcore style (we all voted black for anything).
Thanks!
PS: Im a boy and this is the child asking!

It depends on the family as to whether or not that is reasonable for a christmas gift. I never would have been given a gift like that for christmas growing up, that is something I would have had to work and save for (maybe with some help from my parents - but never just given to me). However, my husband and his brothers all got computers at some point or the other for a christmas gift. It can't hurt to ask though.

if that's all your asking for it sounds good. just as long as you are not asking for anything else. the thing is tho if your mom/dad is the type of person who loves gift giving, then you should ask for 2 of the gifts on your birthday and so the parents can give you more smaller and cheaper gifts. i'm not a parent but i do help shop for 15 cousins ranging from 3 to 25 so i kind of know my stuff, ha ha the sweatshirt seems cheaper for abercrombie so that's fine. you could maybe find a less expensive straightener, but if not just say you want the more expensive one becuase it's better quality. punching bag- good idea, fun and exercise ipods always get cheaper so thats also fine.

Well - I know that if I had the money and my child has been responsible and keeping his/her grades up and just basically being a good person all around (despite a few teen age mistakes) I'd be willing to shell out for that...
However, the big "IF" is whether I had the money or not.

It is reasonable if you explain to your parents the situation and make them see that you realize that its an expensive gift and that you are willing to donate some money cos you need it for homework and stuff. Your parents might buy you the Mac book! Good luck!

I think it is reasonable. I would have liked to get the black on myself, but I got the middle class white one. I still got 120 GB HD, and 2 GB RAM, and 2.2 GHz intel core 2 duo processor.
the nice ting about mine was that I GOT IT FOR FREE, (my ibook broke but I have the extended warranty, so they jut gave me my macbook!)

its reasonalbe to ask for this for homework
and even for your band and it seven better your helping pay for it but ....
if the white one is cheaper you should get it
dont go with what the band voted for because the computer is yours not for them mostly and they arent helping pay
and who knows how long the band will last....
but if black is the one you really watn for your own reasons i think this makes sense

It is reasonable, if your parents can afford it, and especially if you help. And if you're using it for your music and no just for surfing Myspace, haha.
I got one in August (a white one though), and it is awesome!

Since you are paying for part of it and you are going to use it for your music I think that it is fine.

I think that's reasonable, if that's all you ask for. Especially since you're going to help with it.
