The company I work for is making redundancies. I have worked there since march but leave to have my baby in 4 weeks. I am worried that I will be told I am for thechop, is this the case?

I don't think that they will make you redundant while you are pregnant but they might make you redundant when you go back after maternity leave. This happened to me. Just be aware that this might be the case and you might have to look for a new job after you have had the baby. Good luck.

If it's in the UK and you contest it, you'll find that it's difficult to justify making anybody pregnant redundant. It's easy to make it look like constructive dismissal, which is illegal. If you make enough noise and indicate that you know the situation, you should be fine.

Minimum (no pun intended) length of employment to qualify for any redundancy payment is two years.

Is what the case?

people usually won't fire the pregnant girl. It opens them up to a law suit that they only let you go because you are pregnant!
