From people like Mae West and Marylin Monroe (Gentlemen prefer blondes), who usually played dumb blond parts, and more recently Goldie Hawn and of course, Paris Hilton who just plays herself.

Interestingly there is an article in the Daily Mail (Monday) that reports on tests carried out at Paris Nanterre University, where men were shown pictures of women with a variety of hair colours, then made to take a general knowledge test.

Those who had seen blonds scored lower than the other colours, proving they say that people confronted by stereotypes, generally behave in line with them

Back in the day, there was a beleif that every blonde was pretty. So most blondes acting all pretty would be too dumb to know what there talking about. Because they are always too caught up on trying to act pretty and the things they say are the dumbest things i ever heard in my life. It still happens today.

Actually I heard it started back in the 1930's when there was alot of movies stars getting their hair bleached blonde...Apparently the old school bleached cause some adverse mental effects...like forgetfulness and passing out...So maybe fainting and forgetting what set you're supposed to be on is equated with being dumb?...

Yesterday it was reported that blondes cause men to act dumb. Like their responses to questions were slower when talking to a blonde. So maybe the blondes are not the dumb ones.

Self fulfilling prophecy.

If you hear something said about you over and over, even if you weren't that way before, you will become it.

It gets into your subconscious, and the more people this happens to, the more non-blondes will believe it.
