How do I know if my laptop has a wireless router? I want to get clearwire. I have a CPU and a laptop and the vendor is telling me I need to have a wireless router or purchase their's. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Wireless router cannot be inside your laptop.

You will need to purchase one at a computer store. Linksys or NetGear are probably most common brands.

You will need to connect your modem to the router and then you can connect multiple computers to the router so that both CPU and laptop can use internet at the same time.

Your laptop also needs to have a wireless card to connect to the router. Most new laptops already come with a wireless card, but if you don't have one you will need to purchase one for the laptop as well.

Hi. Your laptop may have a wireless card, not a router. Routers are not too expensive ($60 or so) and Linksys WRT54G is a popular one. Needs to be connected to the internet.

A wireless router is a separate piece of hardware. Your laptop should have a wireless CARD in it, so you can connect to a wireless ROUTER.
