I've never been one to arbitrarily 'go with the flow.' I follow my heart, I steer with my head, and maintain respect for what I believe to be right and wrong and stay in the right, and I stay true to myself. I'm not about to compromise my convictions for the sake of convenience or to appease another.
"Does life go more smoothly for you when you 'go with the flow?'"
I'm sure it does for most, but I'd rather 'take life into my own hands,' deal with the challenges and struggles, and be able to look myself in the mirror and know I didn't sacrifice part of myself for the sake of convenience or expedience.

Life isn't supposed to go smoothly. It's a roller coaster ride. If it's going smoothly, you're not living! Just rideeee the rideeee and be scared sometimes but enjoy it and laugh and cry and liveeeeeeeee! Amen, let's eat

I think going with the flow makes it easier, but taking it into your own hands helps you to get more or what you want. So, I think finding a balance here is a good idea.

I've always herd that when in Rome do as the Romans do. So I believe that it takes a little of both for life to run smoothly.

I don't believe in going with the flow unless you have to as in the matter of a sudden death.I think that to get the most out of our lives we have to take the reins in our own hands and make our life the best that we can make it. As a person with disabilities I have learned that if you don't take you life into your own hands other people's ideas of what your life should be is not neccessarly your idea of what your life should be.

Either way, it never seems to go smoothly.
Its probably a mixture of both. When i go with the flow, my feelings tend to get pushed aside.

I mostly try to go with the flow, but when I reach an impasse, it's time to take matters into my own hands.

Theres a time to go with the flow and a time to swim upstream. The trick is to know when to choose each option.

Sometimes I go with the flow and ride the wave, sometimes I like to think I create the wave. But I'd have to say it goes smoother when I go with it.
