I think Lloyd is a great guy and a class act, however, I think the time was right for him to step down.
I very sincerely hope that Les Miles will not come to coach Michigan. He is not what Michigan needs. He might help them win games, but his attitude is horrible.
I would love to see Bob Stoops from Oklahoma take Michigan's head coaching position.
Go Blue!

I am originally from Michigan but I'm married to LSU. So today was a really hard day in a lot of ways. It was time for Carr to finally step down. The timing really stinks. I sure hope that Les Miles doesn't pull a Nick Saban and announce that he will be leaving LSU before he actually coaches his last post-season game at LSU. If Miles waits until after his last post-season game, I will give Miles my blessing and great admiration of his being both a great man and a wonderful coach. Michigan would have more bargaining power with Miles if he can go to UM with a National Championship in his back pocket.

The talent at LSU made Les Miles a hot item. If he goes to Michigan, you Michigan fans will be begging for Lloyd Carr to return within 2 years. LSU is the only major football team in the state. Louisiana has outstanding high school players. LSU's rooster is made up of 70% Louisiana boys. Recruiting is easy here. Who ever they get to replace Miles should enjoy great success if they have any football sense. LSU is one of the best coaching jobs in the nation. They have the money and are not afraid to spend it. We will get someone good.

Rumor has it.....you are right.
He is not the only rumor out there tho....Ron English and Harringtons names, along with about three others that I cannot recall, are in the mill too.
I think Lloyd had already decided before season started that this would be his last year.......everyone seems to concur, since he made a change in his contract last season. I like Carr....he cared about people and I think he helped a lot of young men onto lifes path. It was time for him to go........and I wish him health and happiness.

As a loyal Michigan fan, I am glad to see him go. He does not seem to be able to prepare the team for games anymore. He did well but there is a time for everything. This was time for him to go.
