getting touch downs is a way to score points in the game. To get a touch down you have to catch the ball in the end zone. Each touch down is worth 6 points then 1 point for the following field goal. So they are really worth 7 points.

they used to "touch" the ball to the ground when they crossed the goal line back in the day. I wish more players would do it today, tired of the show offmanship!
6 points for a TD. 1 for Point After Try(PAT)
good luck

Well it is touchdown, one word, but it means that you have scored 6 points and 1 more point for the extra point after the touchdown. You can also get a field goal when you can NOT score. That is worth 3 points.

It means 6 points. Then the team has the option to kick a
field goal(Most common) for the extra point, or go for 2 points.

Seriously?
You don't have to catch the ball in the end zone, just cross it...carrying the ball without stepping out of bounds.
