Fast food usually comes from chain restaurants--corporate monstrosities that flourish at the expense of locally owned eateries. The end.

Lean your speech to a two particular fast food place like McDonald's for example and watch Super Size me as reference. You can read Fast Food Nation for some more references. Start your essay with a statistic. Ask your audience questions for example do you what to be ill? Good luck!

Focus on the health issues. Fast food contains a lot of unhealthy ingredients and can contribute to obesity, high blood pressure, and even diabetes.
Watch the movie "Super Size Me" for a good overview of what fast food does to the body.
You can also discuss how "cheap" fast food is actually more expensive than home-cooked meals, and how it produces a lot of waste and garbage.

Hidden fat and salt. Fast food has WAY more calories from fat than a healthy diet recommends; that is unless you're eating grilled chicken and scraping off the mayo.
