I think, in the court of public opinion, he will make the hall of shame. In reality, he should make the hall of fame.
The reason I believe this is because he's not the only player that has used steroids. And regardless of the use of steroids, you still have to be able to hit the ball and be able to hit it far enough to hit a homerun.
If you think Mark McGuire didn't use steroids, you are sadly mistaken. If you think many other players didn't use them, you are sadly mistaken.
Remember when baseball had the strike and there was no World Series? Baseball suffered tremendously. What brought baseball back as a popular sport? It was the homerun race between Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa.
All because Jose Canseco came out and said certain players were using steroids, doesn't mean it's not true.
All I'm saying is I feel Barry Bonds is getting an unfair shake simply because many people didn't want to see him break Hank Aaron's homerun record.
Now that baseball has resumed its popularity, steroids has become the big thing. Baseball must prove that they are so innocent now. My question is why must they prove it now? How come they weren't trying to prove it when baseball's popularity was waning?

Bonds will without a shadow of a doubt be in The Hall Of Shame. I would rather see Pete Rose in The Hall Of Fame than Bonds. He didn't cheat to get his record.(All Time Hit King)

I personally think he should be on the Hall of Shame!! Bonds has denied any knowledge of taking steroids...(ya, right!!)
But in all seriousness, he'll be considered into the Hall of Fame and he probably will be a Hall of Famer. But when everything is all said and done, he'll only be remembered for his use of steroids that help him cheat to glory. And A-Rod is on the path to shatter the record anyways (I'm not a Yankee fan, but it's true), so Bonds won't be remembered for anything in the end.

Barry Bonds does not deserve to go into baseball's Hall of Fame after his confession that he used steroids to enhace his record. It is a shame that a person has to resort to artificial enhancements to achieve. It would denegrate the Hall. After all, Pete Rose only bet on his team in baseball and he has been denied entry. If he gambled on other events==SO WHat!The Pollyanna mindset of the sports writers is a joke.

He was, but unfortunatly because of the controversy that is going to surround him for the rest of his life, people will see nothing but Barry the cheater, and not the 494 home runs, 1405 RBI, 471 stolen bases, 8 Gold Gloves or 3 MVP's he had before he is believe to taken steroids for the first time in 2001. Those numbers alone are first ballot hall of fame numbers, but I have a feeling voters aren't going to see that, they are going to see the last 6 years and the controversy associated with it all and leave Bonds off their ballots, and he will join Pete Rose as one of the games greatest players to never be recognized for his greatness

Personally, I am split on the decision. I do believe that he use steroids. I don't believe that he didn't know he was using it. But, the talent is still there. Just because he used steroids doesn't mean that he couldn't have been a great contact hitter.
I think he should make the Hall of Fame.

These latest chain of events will turn a lot of the voters off. Two major areas of consideration for those that vote for players are (1) the way you played the game and (2) your additional contribution to the game beyond the numbers that are put up. Bonds is a huge failure in both of the areas of consideration.
