Uhh, the Patriot Act isn't limited to international telephone calls, or telephone calls at all for that matter...Warrantless searches of U.S. citizen's homes is old news (that doesn't get much news coverage).
Everything you thought you knew about the limits of government have no relevance outside a history book.

Doc, I think you cons gotta' get out more. Stop getting all your information from Rush and Savage and turn the knob from Fox News every once in a while. As repellent as it seems, get to know a liberal. Here's an idea, why don't you guys start a 'Take a Liberal to Lunch' program? We won't actually morph your brain into jello or anything like that and we stopped hating America last week (or something like that, I think).
As for Constitution trashing... Don't even want to start. But just let me say that, in that department, no one can hold a candle to your darlings, George and his justice department.

If you read the article you know that police need permission from the parent to search without a warrant. Anyone can give police the right to search without a warrant if they choose to. it's not wise if you have anything to hide, but it doesn't violate our constitution if you give permission.
Give it a break. Your question is ignorant to the extreme.

You must understand the control freak attitude of the Massachusetts democrats.
Massachusetts is the most over regulated state in the union by democrats who insist they know better what's good for you.
The democratic party has always believe in government intervention and patronism. Liberals take the moral high ground and will kill you to make sure you conform to their politically correct views.
It is the permissive politically correct double standard of the liberal that declares criminals are just misunderstood, and it is the heavy handed methods to control crime espoused by liberals which crime rate liberals tolerated in the first place which demonstrates the left-wing democrats hypocrisy also in the first place.

"Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children's bedrooms."
Yes, clearly that violates civil liberties. But when you start by allowing something like warrentless wiretapping at the top, you do open Pandora's box and this sort of thing follows suit.

"Clearly this trashes the constitution"
No, it doesn't. Did you actually read the article you linked to?No one is breaking any doors down. If the owner of the house lets the police inside to search there is no constitutional violation.

You really need to research things a little better before spouting off like this.
They need to ask permission to enter and search, JUST AS POLICE ANYWHERE IN THIS COUNTRY HAVE NEEDED IT.
Without permission to enter and search, they cannot enter.
BTW, I'm an Uber conservative.

search warrants aren't needed in every case. if they believe they can find evidence they can enter home with out one.Did they see some thing in your home to be illegal? they had to have a reason to bust in some one home with out one. a crime in progress some thing illegal in plain sight. look up what a cop can use to break down in to some ones home with out a warrant. not all things require one. but if there wasn't nothing going on and nothing illegal in plain sight they can't come in unless consented to do so. you can get them for officer misconduct if they violate it. look up the laws and rules cops can use to get in to some ones home with out one. if none of them applies then you can sue them in federal court.
