I had a life threatening disease during college and was in the hospital for a very long time. While recovering, my doctors told me that it was unlikely that I would be able to walk again or use my left hand. I left the hospital bound and determined to prove them wrong. I asked for and had to fight to get physical therapy where I worked nearly every day on gaining muscle and weight enough so that my legs could support my body. The disease had taken a real toll on my body, my internal organs and robbed me of the ability to have children, so I wasn't going to allow it to take anything else from me. I worked hard, prayed a lot, got wonderful support from my friends and family and though I didn't regain total use of my left hand, I can write well enough and function with the right that I don't miss the left much. Most importantly, I can stand on my own two feet.

Being in love and mentally attached to my abusive, controlling, manipulative boyfriend. I soon became so deluded that I thought that it was ok for him to hit me or throw me around every once in awhile. My challenge was to get away from him. It was extremely hard, because I'm weak, and he knows how to pull me in every time. I faced, and am still facing this challenge, but I'm getting through it and moving on to do good things with my life :) I am still getting through it with the support of my family, friends, and coworkers.

I have a pretty easy life.
The biggest challenge I faced had nothing to do with me, so I personally couldn't do anything to overcome it.

Last year I had major surgery and was out of work for almost a year. I coudltn even get out of bed the first 3 months and the rest was alot of tough physical therapy. My son was 16 at the time actually went and got a full time job just to pay rent, utitilities, and food. He amazed me at what a wonderful and dedicated man he had grown into. it was tough getting back my strength- but finally did- but even more amazing how my son jumped in there and became the man of the family and pulleed us thru the tough time we went thru! He is so awesome and Im just so proud of him!

One challenge I faced in my lifetime was when my grandmother died. My parents woke me up one day and were crying. So us children were worried and asked what was wrong. There answer was that your grandmother died this morning in the hospital. I was crying like a baby. About 2 hours of crying I went downstairs and started talking to my parents about her and why she died. She was a tough loss and is missed greatly.

I have to deal this challenge: fighting with my siblings. I have to overcome it by ignoring them and don't fight with them.
