The media doesn't want to spread any word about situations improving. They don't want to admit that certain decisions have actually been the right ones. And liberals don't want to accept that they were wrong about Iraq and still are.

It's a very dire picture of American media and those who control it.

Conditions from the limited amount I've heard are actually still pretty bad in Iraq although they are beginning to improve now (after 5 years) which is a nice thing to see finally happening a bit.

You also seem to be failing to mention the past and still ongoing civilian death toll in Iraq. http://www.iraqbodycount.org/

As for question #4 you really need to lay off the Fox News, it's brainwashing's effect on you is astounding. Al Qaeda wasn't in Iraq to all that much of an extent. Saddam Hussein and his supporters and various Iraqi nationalist groups are the ones we are fighting there. Maybe you're thinking of Afghanistan.

Liberal here...Yes, I've noticed that the Sunnis and Shiites are beginning to unite again and trying to live peacefully with each other. They are finally getting back to where they were when we invaded Iraq! At that time, they were living beside each other, inter-marrying, playing sports together, going to school together, and all quite peacefully, I remember. Then, the insurgents started showing up in Iraq to get at our troops, and they kept coming and coming. Now, thousands have been killed and maimed and we find ourselves trying to get back where we started! Do you wonder why some think the Civil War has been a result of our invasion in the first place?

You do live in a world you created all by yourself don't you:

Check out a few "headlines"

There is some truth in what you say..but don't count your chickens before they are hatched. It appears that the lull in sectarian violence is just on the appearance level and that the violence has went underground....there are still plenty of reasons to believe that the "civil war" between Shiite and Sunni...or between the Sadrist and the SIIC will erupt in to a more dangerous civil war. And apparently, the "liberal" media hasn't stopped talking about it. Change the channel once in a while and get a variety of news shows instead of just one that you are obviously biased towards.

Let me tell you why I quit talking about Iraq on Y!A.........people like you are too thick to understand the things I was saying, and I couldn't seem to make a dent in your ridiculous support of this so-called war. So, since you won't listen to truth or reason, you make up your own "facts" as you see fit, and there are so very few of you left, it just seemed futile to keep talking about this moral outrage!

Over 1000000 Iraqi's Dead. 1000000 displaced. Its the law of averages. The Marines are back while the Army ships out on the fifth, my brother included. Al Qaeda? Yea they are in Pakistan just waiting it out. And your welcome to try the shopping in Baghdad.

That's not the version we hear about on NPR or BBC or CSpan...

Maybe you listen to Fox - But none of my websites or radio stations have told me the war is over... Yahoo, MSNBC, PBS, and all the .gov websites must all be part of that liberal media conspiracy, huh?

And even if it was, and you are correct.... what did we really win and how long will it last?
Did fundamental Islam just magically disappear?

there are signs of progress indeed and more importantly the Persians are being kept in check in regards to developing nukes, libs hate bush so much they are unwilling to give support for any success, partisan politics suck.I am glad the many good people of Iraq are taking command and standing up to the radical Muslims, I sincerely hope a lasting peace is in their future...God bless president Bush and our troops! let freedom ring!

And Gosh, it only took nearly 5 years to see the FIRST signs of improvement for a war we never should have entered in the first place! Makes me all warm and squishy inside.

And what's an "acceptable" level of violence anyway?

Taking the turd known as Iraq.. polishing it up and spraying a little perfume on it doesn't mean it's not still a turd.
