I'm Italian. I've really appreciated the Scots team fight and its fans support during the match but I'm, how to say, a bit disgusted by all these complaints on this Y/A section about the ODD and WRONG free kick decision in favour of Italy. Said that, in my opinion a draw by 1 to 1 would have been also a fair result (the goal missed by Scotland made me shudder) but nobody should forget the good goal disallowed to Italy and the Scots goal scored in a crystal clear offside. For Italy a tie result wouldn't have represented a problem (since I guess nobody might suppose they will be beated by Faroe Islands in the tomorrow's last match) and me personally I would have preferred a qualifying of Scotland instead of offering it on a silver plate to the French team as it has happened.
But I wonder why none of the people here is blaming about the suicidal playing tactics adopted by the Scotland's trainer Mr. McLeish who has played the majority of the match without using Miller and with just one forward player. It's true that playing a match with 2 or 3 forwards doesn't guarantee you the victory but once Italy had scored at just the beginning of the match I would have expected a much more offensive attitude by the home's players.
This has happened just in the last part of the second half and Scotland should have been more motivated than Italy while I've counted many more attacks made by Italy rathen than by Scotland (and our team has the worldwide reputation to be able just to defend....!!).
I repeat, apart from the result (that obviously made me happy)
I've liked the match but now I absolutely dislike that many people say Italy has been lucky to win and thank to referee and linesmen decisions. This is absolutely not true, on the contrary I think a draw would have been fairer but if one team were deserving to win the match that's Italy, thanks to the wrong tactics of Scotland.

I don't think Italy were lucky to beat Scotland but at the same time I do think a draw would have been a fairer result. Scotland had the chances to get the points they needed to qualify but failed to take them. In addition to that, if they had been a bit more positive in the match against Georgia last month, the 3 points needed would have been in the bag.
An excellent game (lousy result for us!) played in a great spirit with no nastiness......congratulations to Italy and here's one Scot who hopes you go on to make it a World and Euro Cup double (especially if you knock off England along the way! Go Gattuso!

Bahahahaha do you actually believe the garbage that you type, watch the game again and tell me who got the bad calls because obviously you where watching the game blindfolded. haha
Scotland goal = offside = bad call in favor of scotland
Italy's offside goal = perfectly good goal = bad call in favor of scotland.
Now why did you forget to mention these huge moments in the game, oh i know you were watching the game through a pair of Scotland glasses, haha...
Very typical of football fans when you lose the other team was lucky, they cheated, the refs were biased, the crowd was to loud, lol, excuses excuses excuses... lol

Not lucky at all, are you crazy? The referees were not paid off, Italy were just the better team. You'd have to be crazy to think otherwise, honestly.
