Yes it is. Assuming in a dream you are unaware that it is a dream and believe it to be real, albeit temporarily, then you are perfectly capable of lying. Your beliefs can also change, dependent on the particular circumstances of the dream. To a certain extent it would appear that entering or having a dream requires that you either accept or are programmed with the laws, knowledge and supposition inherant to the framework of the dream itself. This can perhaps be compared to the way in which you have to accept the physics engine, plot and premises of a videogame in order to play it.

Who are you lying to? Well probably to a character your subconscious has created within your dream who you believe to be a real and separate entity from yourself. Technically you are lying to yourself, although you believe at the time that you are lying to another person, which makes the distinctio kind of hazy.....

If you are honest with you and you are able to comprehend symbols or sights around you, I tend to believe that dreams ever tell lies. Through your 'prophetic' dreams you become more lucid and aware of the awakening of yourself. Dreams are trying to tell you the truth about your life or could help you to attain your own prophesies; while nightmares come to you if your life is a mess…
If you are a married one and you have a beloved one, you could tell lie when you are dreaming and your mate could discover it.
Telling a lie to? To my enemies, I suppose.

"Lying prophets" in Hebrew times misunderstood Light as it moved in their awareness. Similarly, some higher dreams contain telepathic symbols of Light, which may likewise be misunderstood.

One's waking subconscious, one's dreaming conscious, does not "lie" so much as find clear communication to the general symbol and awareness capabilities somewhat problematic.

A more coherent continuum of awareness and, of course, a sincerity of self, find clearer meaning and awareness.

A "lie" during dreaming might be e.g. a known picture hung upside down. The reason this occurs is that a portion of Self is amenable to "waking up" in the dream state one is mostly in, and receives an angelic help as field-based suggestible re said picture. If the soul awareness responds, "Ah, that's not right...I must be dreaming" then there is an experiential learning attainment re lucidity. Further awakening to self in dream permits changing of dream dynamic, and, further awakening beyond that level permits telepathic conversation with angels and holy bodhisattvas. At that point, one begins to climb Jacob's ladder in earnest, moving into higher First Heaven precincts, and even Second Heaven Universities of the Spirit. These are described in "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, and "The Masters and Their Retreats," Mark Prophet, authors who are among the very best.

"Nightmares" and "seducing 'spirits'" are another topic altogether. Such try to deceive, confuse, filch Light of Soul, and generally do mischief. Asking God, Saint Michael, Christ Jesus, and so on for protection, being drug/alcohol/porn/tv violence-free, and being of sincere and pure heart, do much to protect one. The awareness process including dreaming is not fantasy or a mere game, although promoting that attitude is one deceptive ploy.

kind regards,

j.

interesting question. it is possible to say something in a dream which you know (when concious) is not true. i do this, sometimes, so i know. why this is, puzzles me. maybe it's just a glitch of some kind, but i believe that, in general, there is a deeper meaning in dream imagry. telling a lie would be lying to yourself, unless you are acting out a waking life scenario.

You could, though mostly for self-protection purposes. You can also have sex in your dreams with random people you ahve no interest in in real life or who don't even exist. Isn't that a lie? You can go to places that don't exist and do things you can't do in real life like fly.

No lies. Dreams are wishes your heart makes. To coin a phrase from a song.
