I have a normal baxi boiler that heats the water in an immersion tank and does the central heating. I want to build a flat roof extension on the outside wall it sits on. can i fit a flue to the exhaust to go out through the flat roof or will that not meet building regs. obviously i would have the work done by a proffesional I am just trying to find out my options. I am sure if I ask the gas man he will try to make me have a new boiler and this one is only 5 years old.

The manufacturers stipulate flueing options, look in the installation manual, if you don,t have one, ring Baxi.

You will be able to fit the flue and go out through the roof. You will need to use flue from baxi and a professional but there would be no need to replace the boiler. For more info, check out the boiler page at www.hvac-for-beginners.com. The only problem you may have is if your boiler is not big enough to heat the addition. The only way to know that is to have a load calculation performed.

Ask a builder or ask baxi (0870 604 9049) for advice, there would be more honest.
