I don't know. I am happy the Sox got such an awesome SS and all, but now they really need pitching. They don't have a good bullpen(except for Bobby of course), and now they won't have too many dependable starters. There is Buehrle, and the rest I'm not too confident in. The Sox need to get more good pitching, both in the bullpen and starters. I will miss Garland though.

I think it was a good trade for the white Sox...Garland has been crying about trades since he came to the White Sox; so, as a White Sox fan and season ticket holder, I'm glad the cry-baby is gone. Cabrera is a very competent shortstop and the White Sox will be a better team with this addition; however, I do feel a bit sorry for the Angels because now they have to deal with a prima donna pitcher that is average, at best.

Average pitcher for a decent shortstop. Garland's never been great except that one year the white sox won the WS. Cabrera is an superb defender and a good 2 spot hitter. I personally think the angels could've got somebody better for him. And I'm guessing Brandon Wood will be starting at SS next year. I don't understand why the angels are trading for pitching. They need to get another big bat to complement vlad

Garland could be a good catch if he rebounds to 2005 form. Cabrera is great for the sox. Why did they resign Uribe to a 1yr deal???

I think it's a very good deal for the White Sox. They got a Gold Glove shortstop for an overrated and overpaid starter.

i'm happy. i like garland in all, but he wasn't giving us the pitching we expected..i guess. so now that we too uribe out of SS & put a gold glover there..that can solve some problems. jon garland can go back to california where he was raised, & no i'm not bashing him.

It will be a good trade if the angels can end up getting miguel tejada at shortstop, or get miguel cabrera on the team.

Not a good deal for the Angels, Cabrera is a much better position player than Garland is a pitcher at this point in his career.

Garland will be on the DL by September. Way to go Angels!
