I used to like this guy & I told him that as well.He replied with a "I would have said yes,but I'm not looking for a relationship right now".That was one year back.

This year,we're much more friendly since we share a class together & we're feeling more comfortable(last year,we were very nervous around each other.more-like strangers). So,we joke around for fun.(he initiates it mostly).Lately,he has been trying to get my attention(teasing me,starts staring for fun & hanging around) & also gives me hidden compliments.

Just today,in the morning,he was commenting abt how my laugh is unique.Later just before school ended,I made a little joke abt him(his hair is pretty long,so i said he looked like a woman) & he asked "why are you trying to get my attention so hard if you take me to be a woman?" & I was left speechless, because for the past few weeks it has been HIM who was trying to get MY attention.

Do you think he said that in front of everyone to cover up what HE feels abt me or

No, I think he was doing either. I think he was testing the waters. He wanted to see what you're response would be, in that he wants to know if you are indeed interested. What you should have said was something along the lines of, "and what if I was? Would you have a problem with that?" IOW, he wants to know if you are still hoping to get his attention or if he's just making a fool out of himself. but tend to be more interested in something they can't have, they like the thrill of the chase, which is the sense I get from him. Don't be too overly obvious. I really do think he'd like it if you lead him on a little bit, if you know what i mean. Give him a hint, but don't tell him outright.

By the situation that you have depicted I would say that the issue is about the young man being some what immature, first he is cold to you, next he starts to warm -up to you I don't know what the age is of your young man and at what level of school you both are in but, I would re-look at the situation and answer that question "Is this guy know what he wants and what kind of image and confidence does he have in himself?" The Hair issue sends a flag to me that he is not very confident in his own being. Good Luck

It sounds to me that he was trying to cover up that it hurt to hear that, so he turned it more into a joke or made the attention go towards you instead of him.

I think he was hurt by what you said because he DOES like you, and didn't want to seem "un cool" in front of everyone. Talk to him about it and tell him you were just joking around and apologize to patch things up.

No, you shouldn't have said that about his hair. He is a guy, he has an image to uphold.

haha.. I think that's kinda cute..

Sorry sweetie.. you called him out and he was probably embarrassed, so he got you back. He was probably flirting anyway.
