Why does pregnancy take so long?

Question

I'm 34 weeks today...tick, tock.....tick, tock.....oh hum. I WANT TO SEE MY BABY!! *LOL*

Anyone else staring at the calendar???

akleba: Delivery is bad....baby is good! ha ha ha!! Can I just skip to holding the baby and avoid the delivery? Oh yeah, I can't. LOL :)

Time seems to slow down when you're pregnant! I'm 28 weeks and can't wait until my due date! But it's important that our babies stay put for as long as possible so they can be born healthy and full-term.

I know it seems like a lifetime for the end of your pregnancy to come. I have gone through it twice. Just remember that you can go into labor at anytime. The closer to 40 weeks tho' the better. Enjoy this time because the little ones growing up goes by in a flash. My oldest is already 7 and in second grade and my youngest is already 6 months old.

I had my first at 37 weeks and my second at 34, well almost 34 and I feel cheated. I never got to be so big I couldn't get up off the couch with help. I never got to enjoy being pregnant with a big belly. I was just starting to get that belly when I had my second and my first was all in the butt.

I do know that the longer you are pregnant the better off your baby is. God must be a man because a woman would have given us a window in our belly so we could see their little faces.

Hang on and it is absolutely worth the wait.

I know the feeling all too well. I am only 13 weeks and 1 day and I wish to be farther along so I can see the baby and hold my baby as well. I feel for you be so close but still now baby in your arms. Hope you go into labor soon anf have a safe healthy baby.

wow, congrats to all of you who are pregnant. For my cousin we thought it went by fast, but since I have never been pregnant I wont know how it is on the other side. Again congrats to all of you, and you are brave to have a baby, I'm too scared to.
In a way Im hoping that the lord has supplied me with a failed uterus. I just so scared of the pain. I seen a birth on tv and then the placenta fell out eeewww. I just dont think I am capable of that pain. I imagine if the tv scared me what it must me like live! But congrats on you all! Truely amazing what women go through.

Be grateful your not an elephant they are pregnant for two years. We are one of the lucky species, 9 months is nothing when you really think about it. We then have the baby for the rest of our lives, look forward to all the milestones you will then go through. Either way 40 weeks isn't really that long.

time goes by slower the closer you due date gets, lol. I've stared at the calendar through 3 of them.

i have two children and one on the way. I am only 10 weeks and I want to be further along. I love the delivery part....mostly because I finally get to see my baby.

I think we all get that way as the time gets closer and closer. 39 weeks when my baby was born. I was so happy that she was finally here. I was so excited to meet her....I kept rubbing my stomach and saying, "will you ever come out of there?!?"

lol... I'm only 19 weeks and I'm already impatient about meeting this little one. So I cannot imagine how you're feeling. Hang in there, you don't have too much longer. :)
