the knee "injury" thing with mvp attacking him on smackdown, no, they just wanted mvp to become even more of a heel. it was also to build suspense in the survivor series match. it was 4 on 5 without matt, so fans would definitely want to see if triple h's team could pull it off, which they did.
matt did look really hurt though, so i am not surprised that so many people thought it was real. most injuries that are real are often unintentional, like when rey mysterio's knee brace busted open matt's head. that was real.

No, it was a work. I don't know why they did the injury angle, maybe Matt is taking some time off for a bit, but the injury itself is a work.

He is injured, but only a few scars and bruises. Nothing that could stop him from wrestling. But he is selling the injury, as a good actor should.
