coffin ship is called that because when they would put the slaves into the ships to bring them back to where ever 1/3 of them would die.
White people, did not start slavery, but the question of how they affected it is hard to answer. In America, well we only had 5% of the entire international slave population brought to us. Europe was more on the "modern edge" and slavery never really cought on there.
Really what i can tell you in the affect thing, is that slavery was demised by the industrial revolution. The whites began to think that it was "old" to have slaves, then they began to open their eyes to the cruelty and other things.
...
that's all i can help you with lol

Their desire for cheap labor drove the slave trade and a coffin ship refers to a slave ship from Africa. The slaves were kept in poor conditions and forced to lay flat in small tight areas, by the time they arrived many were dead and looked as though they were laying in coffins, hence a coffin ship. Look this crap up online and do your own homework kid. Is it making you any smarter to get half/a$$ed info on here?

while slavery has existed everywhere in history as far back as there is history, and while some whites in America held slaves, the unique contribution of white Anglo Saxon Brits and Americans to the issue of slavery was they abolished it and then worked to eliminate it, worldwide, even to the point of more dead in the US Civil War than in ALL of Americas wars COMBINED.......yes you read that right, more dead in 1860-65 that ALL other American wars combined

white people affected slavery in different ways:

some created the demand for it, some had slaves, some fought for slaves freedoms, some protected runaway slaves from being caught, and ultimately some white people freed them.

there's no one answer.

they participated in various slave trading businesses but they also have been slaves through out history. it is a common misconception that slavery is only defined as the african / american slave trading. even this was only possible because african leaders prospered and allow people to be enslaved.
