THe lead is a component of the paint. It adds durability to the finish. Unfortunately it is also poisonous if kids eat chips from the paint.

If you have kids and own or rent a house that contains that paint you will need to either cover it up (like with plaster board) or have an expensive professional take it off for you - that's the law.

only paint produce before 1978 contains lead,google lead in paint,to remove paint already on is a professional job

You don't! Just remove the paint and paint again. Todays paints don't contain lead.

You can't get it out. It's a serious health risk. You will have to wear a respirator when chipping, sanding, etc. This link will go into detail.
