I have a check up in 4 hours, and im TERRIFIED. HELP?

Im a girl, and im 14. I need to have a check up in order to try out for a sport at my school, so i have a list that i have to give to the doctor. and one of the things she has to check for is 'genitalia....' does that mean shes gonna have to look in my yeah? I havent had my 13 year check up yet so shes probablly gonna do that too....what goes on there? im so scared. i hate doctors. hellpppp =[

if anything all, shes going to do is take a quick peek just to make sure there's nothing obviously wrong. you don't need a full pelvic exam at 14 unless you're sexually active. just relax, the doctors done this thousands of times and it'll be over quickly. and there reallly is no 13 yr check up so its not like shes going to do more to you than whats already going to be done. it'll be ok.

Sounds like you are going for a physical, but just calm down. He/she will probably just ask you questions about your history and if an examine needs to be done then yes they may need to examine you. Don't be scared. They are not going to hurt you or anything. They will probably just ask you most of the stuff, but if they have to examine you don't get nervous it'll be alright. As far as your 13 year old check up, you are 14 now so you will only have to do it for your 14 year old check up. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure what they do when they check for "genitalia" I'm assuming a pap smear? In that case it's very quick and every woman has to go through it....it is embarrassing and a little uncomfortable, just breathe deep and relax, your doctor should explain what she is doing when she is doing it, remember to relax and that every girl on the planet has been through it at one point or another.....it may help to have your Mom there....good luck!

There is no big deal, honey. You will have a physical exam. They will exam every part to be check and make sure everything is normal. There is nothing to be scary of it. Your mom will be with you during the exam. Your doctor will talk your mom about your health condition.

Hey, I use to have some kind of infection to where it stung like heck to pee. So, I use to have to go and get those check-ups once a week. UH! I got use to the boy docters, and was glad when it was a girl docter. If you don't want a boy docter then you should request it 'cause i was 4or 5, and you 24!!!

it is no big deal, the doctor does a physical exam, looks up your nose, down your throat, checks your ability to move. If you are due for vaginal exam, they will do that too, and again, it's no big deal. You lay down, the doctor takes a look. Get over yourself, you are bit old to be afraid of doctors.

she'll ex-ray your lungs.
she'll examine your abdomen to make sure you have no pain in any interior part.
