bleeding trees
Endless, mindless agony is running,
From out my bloodshot eyes.
Standing on a frozen lake,
A lake of my own icy tears.
The first light of spring,
The dark gloom of winter.
All of it has been for real,
Except for the death of fall.
Her body long forgotten,
Covered up by rotting leaves,
On the banks I cry for you,
On the banks of the bleeding trees.
The snow whips my depression,
You pass away before my very eyes.
I have never really understood,
Why you doubt my deep and trusting love.
