How much dedicated memory does your video card have?
Generally though, you'll want to up your RAM, 448MB is lacking if you want to play high quality games. You are probably running a 32bit OS so you'll hit the barrier if you go higher than 2GB. So probably just upgrade your RAM to 2GB, you'll want to go with PC5300, DDR2, 667MHZ which is the best RAM available now.
Assuming your video card is lacking you'll also want to upgrade that. Something with alot of dedicated memory will be good. Something ideal for gaming would be something like an Nvidia Geforce 8 Series.

If your computer has any on-board graphics capability, you may need to disable it on the motherboard. For more information, see your computer's manual. Determine if you have an AGP slot before buying a video card.
In order to change the card, you'll first want to uninstall the current video drivers, then reboot the system and enter BIOS. Disable the onboard video and enable the AGP port if that is needed, then shut off the computer and install the new card. Plug the monitor into the new card. Reboot, disable anti-virus software, and install the drivers.

Get a graphics card that has it's own memory so it won't eat system memory. 512MB graphics memory. Then get some sytem memory. Max it out. Go to http://www.archmemory.com to see how much memory your PC can hold. Max it out. get a nice flat panel DVI monitor to go with the new card. get a cheap 50 or 100 watt surround sound system made specifically for computers. Last you'd want a game controller. Whatever you're comfy with. I like PS2 controller so I'd get one with the same button configuration as PS2. Make sure you disable any unecissary programs that run at startup. That will free up valuable resources.

1. You need a decent graphics card, such an an Nvidia 8800.
2. You need more RAM - 2 GB should do.
3. Ideally, you should get get a faster processor... but you may just scrape in with that Celeron.

A Celeron not really made for kick butt gaming machines. You may look into upgrading your CPU. For sure you need a discrete VGA card. If your using nVidia at least a 8600GT anything less is not good for gaming. 1GB of Ram minimum I'd go with 2GB since RAM is so cheap right now.

I would add 512 MB system ram. You didn't say how many MB the video card is--you should have a video card with 256 or 512 MB ram. If you add one make sure you know whether your motherboard will take AGP, pci, or pci express.
