My grandma just recently passed on. We have issues what to do with all her old cloths, shoes, hats. We value my grandma very much, but we have to clean out her house, and we don't know what to do with cloths dated back to the 1950's.

Are there any websties that we could sue to determine the value if any of old cloths, and stuff.

You need an appraiser to actually look at them. I don't think you can get their value over the internet. Set up an Ebay sellers site, maybe. Or you can photograph them, digitally, and post them on Craig's Lising. I sold a car that way. And it doesn't cost anything, unlike Ebay. Appraisers cost money, and if you think they're not worth it, give it to charity.

I don't know about websites but, nursing homes are good places to donate any clothes. so many people are placed in these homes and then abandoned by their families. I know of several that only had 3 changes of outfits. I'm not saying they should have a closet full of clothes but don't you (me too) feel good about ourselves when we have a few more outfits. At the nursing home near my house the residents are given $25-$40 a month, not much .

A great idea on what to do with a loved ones clothes after their passing is to take the clothing and have someone make a quilt out of the clothing and put it away for a keepsake.

If some of them have sentimental value or you really like them MAYBE you could (if you could bear cutting them up) make a quilt out of the fabrics. I thought about doing this with my daughters baby clothes that were my favorite :)

Donate the rest to goodwill or a thrift store, they won't be worth much to you financially.

i like applying textile diapers. We use a provider and it is $one hundred/month, that's comparable to or below the fee of the disposables we offered in the previous getting the provider. execs: -unlike yet another commenter, i've got no longer stumbled on them to be messy in any respect. we've had one enormous leak and a handful of smaller leaks, and that's it. interior the month I used disposables, we had a leak a minimum of as quickly as a week. -they are truthfully extra applicable for the ambience regardless of the water it demands to bathe them. extremely some water and capability is going into making disposable diapers and those take up far extra room in landfills. -you do no longer sense such as you're dropping money every time your toddler poops distinctive circumstances in an hour. you may replace the diaper as regularly as you prefer and you spend the same quantity of money. This became extremely great while my son became on antibiotics and had extremely some diarrhea. -The diaper covers are extremely lovable! -this could be a sprint better down the line, yet I study that that's extra convenient to potty prepare with textile diapers. it is because of the fact the new child can affiliate the sensation of wetness with the sensation of going to the bathing room, which they might't do with the excellent absorbent disposable diapers. i myself won't be able to think of of any cons. i think in case you do not have a provider, having to bathe them would be a soreness, yet all the pros would make up for it. :)

I don't think there are any websites you can sue. What would that accomplish anyway? Your grandmother's old clothes are not what you will remember about her. You will remember how she treated you, how much you loved her, etc. Give the clothes to a church or a needy organization. Some older folks that don't have a pot to pee in will appreciate them so much.

Charity shop will be best because 1950s clothes etc.. are not really much sort after.
Alternately have car boot sale, some people will pay good money for vintage clothes.

I took my mother's stuff to a place called Discovery Shop. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. No matter where you take them to donate, they give you either a sheet with approximate values, or tell you to make it up. Either way, they sign it, and you can take it off your taxes. And it goes to a worthy cause.

But make sure everyone gets to pick at least one thing of hers as a keepsake.

God bless.

I dont' think thats a very nice gesture, but to each their own..

I would put all her clothing on a big box and label it..

" Grandma's Memories"

pu it in the Attic and Every year go up there and tell her
that she is always going to be remembered...

Probably just try google with the name of the clothing brand. I don't think too many clothing items will be worth much. Have you thought about donating them?
