OPEC strats trade oil for the Euro and all imports become more expensive as our dollar falls because it is supported by oil? Will we be able to heat our homes or purchase food?

I am up for alternatives on fuel. One is to us the Reserve in the ground I.E. drilling as a stop gap way to lower fuel price. What is the solution to what seems to be a world wide fuel crisis?

That will lead to an economic crisis in the near future? Or what will be the economic impact if gas hit 200 a barrel per the VENZ. presiden's wishs?

According to some energy experts on TV we will be almost totally out of worldwide gasoline/oil in about 9 years. China is buying more cars (with all the money we pay them for exports) and using more gas and the U. S. is using lots of gas (including gas guzzling SUVs). In about 9 years we will probably have gasoline rationing and high prices and it will affect the trucking industry and the imports by boat. Think about all the groceries such as oranges from Fla. year round, vegetables from Calif. in the winter, milk and meat and wheat/grains from farmers in the midwest. Milk will probably be powdered if at all to save on weight. Bananas from overseas? Probably will price out of reach. All the Chinese exports that we have problems with? It will be cheaper to manufacture locally again. Large grocery stores like Walmart or Meijers? Might be cheaper gas wise to go to a close by mom and pop smaller store.

Seems to me Germany is on the right track with the government encouraging sun collection energy systems (by means of tax breaks). We aren't even close to them with this and neither is anyone else.

The crisis that your question implies has been with us for about 30 years. We had this same problem then and by now it could have been fixed. But the control of congress by big oil companies have kept us from drilling for more oil and also kept us from funding new sources of energy research. You can lay anything that happens at the feet of Congress and the Presidents that have not taken this as a serious problem. Guess they like wars and taxes more as a fixer.
