It is -1 degree celcius in Ontario Canada. It is really crazy. Up north around North Bay, Cochrane, Timmins and New Liskard they have some snow but in the traditional snowbelt area (Snow Squalls) off of Lake Superior, Lake Erie and around the Great Lakes, eg. Barrie, they have 15 + cm of snow on the ground. WOW!!

It al has to do with upper level dynamics. If the temps at high altitudes are favorable for hail to reach the ground than it will. Steep Lapse Rates and Cold Air Aloft are the main ingredients neeed for such forcing of ice crystals to the surface. however, if the conditions aloft aren't quite favorable, then hail is a big no no. In some cases, this is the same for snow in the winter.

It's about 65F here in Napa Valley. Obviously no snow. But there will be this weekend for a ski-board thing to kick off the parade. (Man made snow.)

It's about 67 here in Nebraska, and it has yet to snow. It feels like fall is ever-lasting.
