there are some threatens that the credit card number will be trapped by some body and our credit will be misutilised by some other unknowns. is it correct?

Make sure it is a secure website...Should show a padlock symbol in yellow.

I dont like using any bank a/c or credit cards on the net unless I have to. I always make sure its a secure line with the padlock on. I just dont think its so safe you hearing all the time about ID theft.

Yes this is true. The site that you use your credit card on should be a large or extremely trusted company. I worked with databases and web development all the time, and I can tell you that it would not be hard to look up information at a smaller company. Larger companies with more credibility will hash and encrypt your personal data so that nobody can see it.

Just make sure its a reputable company, the banks are getting more aware of identity theft now days and most of them have secure sites--its pretty safe, but not 100%.
