That's an interesting point!
I had written my life story, (not to make any cash) but to leave some sort of legacy for family, mainly to try to explain why I'm such a miserable old bast*ed.!
In fact my very first question on this forum was 'How can I get my book published for free'?
The answers varied from 'get stuffed' to ' I have to be a mass murderer'!
OK that's the story, except I did get published, I made next to nothing, but I achieved my aim, book two on the way! For the same reasons.
This will again cost me nothing , but the reason for writing is a different story.
My main answer to your question is that I reckon if the author is really good at his or her job, (I'm not)! they could turn the most mundane life story into a work of art.
If the author is really good it will end up in loads of book shops, but is that the object of the excise?

In all the bookshops... as for my Ex's they'd throw it in the bin HA!! HA!!

if i wrote it all down proable would be a good book for the stores but i wont be writing any of it down so it will neither be in the bin or the shops

both - some people would hate it so they'd stick it in the bin, but others would like it so the bookshelves for them
